It Happened AGAIN!? 🤯
If your bracket was busted yesterday, it's worse now
Hello, friend
Welcome to another late night Bet On Women newsletter… which you’re receiving because MARCH MADNESS IS AT IT AGAIN!!!!
No. 9 Miami upsets No. 1 Indiana
No. 1 seeds are having a historic meltdown in the 2023 women‘s tournament, the latest being the top-seeded Hoosiers falling to the Hurricanes in an upset nobody saw coming, 70-68.
The game-winning shot came from Miami’s Destiny Harden with this CLUTCH runner in the final 3.3 seconds.
ANOTHER NUMBER ONE IS ON THE CANVAS

There were a number of back-and-forths in the final ticks. Indiana’s Yarden Garzon hit a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game with 6.6 seconds left, too.

What a stunner. Miami had this game under control from the very jump, shocking Indiana on its own home court.
🤯 This tourney has been like no other 🤯
24 hours ago, only seven No. 1 seeds had ever lost prior to the Sweet 16
Fast-forward and two (Stanford at the hands of Ole Miss) have gone down in back-to-back nights
This is the first time two No. 1s have lost in the Round of 32 since 1998!
This is doubly more impressive for the underdogs given top seeds play the first weekend on their home court! This was a true road game for both Miami and Ole Miss!
🌀 What a major moment for Miami 🌀
They’re in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1992! It’s their second time ever!
The Hurricanes only finished 6th in their own conference! In one stretch of the season, they’d lost five out of six games. What a turnaround!
Miami toasted Indiana all weekend. The men’s team defeated the Hoosiers on Sunday, too. Of course they posted about it
HOOSIER DADDY!!??
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE U!Two games. Two teams. Two dubs over Indiana!!

😔 What a disappointing loss for Indiana 😔
The Hoosiers were a No. 1 seed for the first time in school history
Indy was star-studded, and will now lose Grace Berger, who was playing with her fifth year of eligibility granted because of COVID-19
🏀 Destiny Harden explained her motivation to win, and it’s hilarious 🏀

Here’s Louisville’s Hailey Van Lith’s side of the story:
For all those inquiring, I asked Hailey Van Lith what was said in the postgame handshake line and here was her response. FWIW, midway through the question, Olivia Cochran yells out, “We got your back!”
