🏀 WNBA roster cuts are hitting fans hard 🏀
Welcome to the final day of the toughest part of the WNBA season. By 5 pm ET all final rosters will be locked in ahead of Friday’s first slate of real life games. But that means a handful of your college faves — and some veterans — will be watching along with you as arguably the most competitive sports league in the world finalizes heartbreaking cuts.
Already, after being drafted just five weeks ago, eight first- and second-round picks have been cut out of 24. That number will surely grow as WNBA teams can only hold a maximum of 12 players on their roster — and due to salary cap restraints, some only 11.
The WNBA also does not have a developmental league like the NBA’s G League. Players have to get better on their own — training at home or by playing overseas — to sharpen their game and get a chance to crack a roster next season, unless they’re lucky enough to get a call if a team hits an injury bug.
As someone who’s been cut several, and I mean SEVERAL😂, times…it’s tough & not a great feeling, but it doesn’t mean it has to be the end of your career. Grind, have a chip on your shoulder, and work to get back.

🏆 WNBA MVP odds are up 🏆
WNBA MVP odds are up and the reigning recipient is, somehow, not the favorite.
That honor belongs to Breanna Stewart, the 2018 MVP, at +280 (bet $10 to win $28). Last year’s winner, A’ja Wilson, has the next-best odds at +300, followed by 2019 MVP Elena Delle Donne at +600, Kelsey Plum +650, Sabrina Ionescu +750 and Brittney Griner +1400.
