Down Go The Champs! 🤯

The championship matchup is set!

OMG, friend

THE IOWA HAWKEYES PULLED OFF A MAJOR UPSET! Caitlin Clark’s 41 points, eight assists and six rebounds lifted the Hawkeyes over undefeated South Carolina, 77 to 73.

We’re set for an Iowa vs. LSU championship game at 3:30 ET on ABC on Sunday!

🏀 Down go the reigning champs 🏀

Holy cow, this game was billed to be one of the biggest of the year, and it DELIVERED.

Despite being 11.5-point underdogs, Iowa took control from the get-go and didn’t let go.

Caitlin Clark, the National Player of the Year who’s taken the sport by storm this tournament, was on fire, in her bag all night.

Those who’ve been watching all year have become accustomed to halftime stats like this one. They’re not normal, though!

Here are some wild Caitlin Clark numbers:

It was more than just Caitlin. Monika Czinano had 18 points and Kate Martin contributed seven points.

The Hawkeyes’ defensive scheme also had South Carolina in trouble!

Point blank: they dared the Gamecocks to shoot 3-pointers, and won that gamble — even though Raven Johnson, who was defended like this all game, stepped up big time and knocked down a career-high three triples.

Zia Cooke was South Carolina’s star, scoring 24 points with eight rebounds.

Last year’s Player of the Year, Aliyah Boston, struggled with loads of questionable foul calls, and finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block.

Now, all eyes are on whether she’ll declare for the WNBA Draft, where she’s expected to be the top pick. After the game, she said she still has not made a decision.

Shouts to the Gamecocks for one of the most impressive runs in the sports’ history. They hadn’t lost a game in more than a year, in March of 2022, and won 36 straight games this year.
