Horston was widely expected to be a lottery pick, but fell down to No. 9. That... worked out for the best, though! The Storm needed a play-maker, and have the roster space to hang on to a player like Horston. Perfect match.

The Mystics got themselves a coveted 2025 first-round pick via the Atlanta Dream. That draft class could include Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, Aaliyah Edwards and more!

Trading a 2025 first-round pick was definitely a choice they made.
